WESTERN AUSTRALIA'S PREMIER CHINESE BUSINESS COMMUNITY

ESTABLISHED IN 1987

Established in 1987, the inception of WACCC was timely. The objective of the formation of the WACCC was to address the dire need for a channel where the locals and business migrants could interact, and to champion the cause of the Chinese community. To fulfill this objective, membership opened to individuals of all racial backgrounds was introduced.

A Message To Our Members Regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Dear Members,

We are currently in an environment of uncertainty and at times confusion within our community and around the world. The forever changing landscape has put most of us at edge.

I would like to inform you that the Chamber’s staff and Council Members are continuing to find ways to serve our members, supporters and sponsors. We have managed to purchase some much needed healthcare products such as face masks and hand sanitisers that are due to arrive in the coming weeks. I would like to thank Mr. Eddie Kwah and Huzhou City Chamber of International Commerce (CCPIT Huzhou) for their assistance. We will put together a package for all our financial members and sponsors to pick up once they arrived.

I am also delighted to inform you that Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce, in particular, the Chairman Mr. Wang Jianyi has donated 150,000 units of face masks to the WA Chinese Chamber of Commerce to be distributed to WA’s community. A portion of the shipment has just arrived in Melbourne and should be cleared by customs and en-route to Perth via road freight. The estimated time of arrival is late next week.

Please note that the Chamber will be closed from Monday 30 March and Jia Lin will be working from home, with the office number diverted to her mobile.

Stay safe.

Khoon Tan
President of WA Chinese Chamber of Commerce
