WESTERN AUSTRALIA'S PREMIER CHINESE BUSINESS COMMUNITY

ESTABLISHED IN 1987

Established in 1987, the inception of WACCC was timely. The objective of the formation of the WACCC was to address the dire need for a channel where the locals and business migrants could interact, and to champion the cause of the Chinese community. To fulfill this objective, membership opened to individuals of all racial backgrounds was introduced.

Message To Our Members

Dear Members,

As we are moving into the 3rd month of the movement restrictions imposed by the Federal and State Governments, it’s a welcomed news that we are starting to see the slowing down of the Covid-19 cases, especially in Western Australia. The announcement of “roadmap” to ease the restrictions by the Prime Minister and the Premier is the result of good work by all.

However, there are big challenges looming in months and years ahead. Unfortunately, there are still many uncertainties and unknowns face by all.

We have been told to brace for further outbreaks and setbacks as the restrictions eases. We are told that the inevitable of “2nd Wave” is almost a certainty.

The gloomy and foggy economy outlooks up to the next 2 years are predicted by the recent forecast by the Reserve Bank of Australia.

The reality is that no one knows the economy and consumers behaviors going forward. However, there are certainly that many businesses will not recover from it. The severity of it will become clearer after the various “rescue “packages come to an end in the coming months.

There are many positives and encouraging words and remarks made by Prime Minister and various State Government officials to businesses and potential investors to kick start the economy.

I strongly believe that most businesses and individuals are resilient and will eventually find a way to resume the “norm” and move forward.

Therefore, the Chamber is preparing to work with Federal and State Governments to provide various platforms to our members during these uncertain time. We are planning to conduct various seminars, webinars and e-news over the coming months.

I look forward to seeing you in the near future.
