On 1 Apr 2025, Chinese Consul General in Perth Mr. Long Dingbin and Consul Mr. Wang Zhufeng visited the Western Australia Chinese Chamber of Commerce (WACCC) and held discussions with President Tony Chong, Vice President Herbert He, and CEO Louise Cluniess-Ross.
During the meeting, Consul General Long provided a detailed briefing on the outcomes of China’s “Two Sessions” held in March, emphasizing China’s continued efforts to deepen reforms and expand high-level opening-up. He highlighted the strong economic and trade ties between China and Western Australia and noted that China’s modernization will create new opportunities for countries and regions around the world. He encouraged WACCC to maintain its active role in strengthening China-WA economic and trade cooperation, promoting cultural exchange, and contributing to the unity and development of the Chinese community in Western Australia.
President Tony Chong reaffirmed WACCC’s commitment to supporting WA-China economic collaboration and expressed the Chamber’s dedication to working closely with other Chinese community organisations to promote traditional Chinese culture. He also conveyed the Chamber’s willingness to strengthen connections with various Chinese sectors and the local community to contribute to the growth of a multicultural society and deepen WA-China relations.
