In a new series of articles, we will introduce major Chamber sponsors and supporters, starting with the Arcadia Group.

Arcadia is a leading operator and developer of retirement communities, ranging from high end boutique hotel style to the classic flat style village. They are renowned for creating living environments which showcase care, compassion and sense of community. All their villages feature quality-built dwellings (villas and apartments) and resort style facilities. The Group’s principle is to maximise its resident’s health and wellbeing, security, stimulation and social companionship.

Arcadia has five communities in Western Australia (Arcadia Waters Bicton, Geraldton, Mandurah, Maddington, Swanbourne) and three in Victoria (Rylands of Kew, Rylands of Hawthorn, La Dimora Retirement Resort Hidden Valley ). The eight communities cater to around 1,000 residents living in 740 dwellings.

Roger Kwok, Managing Director, and his wife Catherine Tan founded Arcadia and entered the retirement community business in 2005 – starting with the development of Maddington Village. This was followed by development at Geraldton. Three additional projects in Western Australia (Mandurah, Swanbourne, Bicton) were added during the early part of this decade. In 2015, Arcadia entered Victoria through the purchase of Rylands of Kew and Rylands of Hawthorn. It also commenced the development of Hidden Valley Luxury Golf and Country Club Resort and La Dimora Retirement Resort, which is located 50 mins drive away from Melbourne. Residents are now moving into the Hidden Valley development.

Roger Kwok was a founding member of the WA Chinese Chamber of Commerce and actively served in many roles over the years, including Chamber President between 2000 to 2002. He is one of the Chamber’s Honorary President and is a member of the Chamber’s trustee.
