MEDICAL CANNABIS INDUSTRY
The emerging Medical Cannabis Industry in Australia is gaining attention. The country’s favourable growing conditions, space and reputation for product integrity is well suited to the industry’s development.
Cannaponics is a Perth based company aiming to develop a vertically integrated business model. It is looking to cultivate medical cannabis under the World Health Organisation (WHO) quality framework for Good Agricultural and Collection Practices for medicinal plants. It is also developing branded hemp products, and setting up health clinics for related products and services.
Our speaker, Willie Ooi, is the Chief Financial Officer for Cannaponics. Willie is a seasoned accountant with 16 years of industry experience in senior finance roles. He previously worked as a senior consultant and accountant at KPMG, specializing in taxation, system implementation and internal / external auditing. He has also served in senior finance role in multiple Australian companies throughout his career.
