Postponed: Guanxi with Associate Professor Dr Angus Turner

In view of Perth’s recent COVID-19 lockdown and the current eased transitional requirements, the Guanxi event scheduled for May 5, has now been postponed. The new date and registration particulars will shortly be posted on our website.

With ongoing opportunities and challenges of doing business here and in the Asia Pacific region, the core of your business success is GUANXI or relationships – establishing, building and maintaining them.

62 FREDERICK ST BROOME; THE VISION AND THE CONNECTIONS THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE

Associate Professor Dr Turner is the Director of Lions Outback Vison (LOV), a regional service and research unit of the Lions Eye Institute (LEI) in Perth, WA. He completed medical training at UWA, before studying at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar.

A.P. Dr Turner is a “hands -on” Ophthalmologist, providing outreach eye health services in regional and remote WA. In 2010, he established LOV to integrate three streams of eye health: retinal screening, optometry and ophthalmology. The unit aims to ELMININATE BLINDNES by improving access to eye health services in regional and remote areas.

In 2015 he initiated the design, construct and fit-out of a new mobile eye health clinic – the LOV Van, which now services 20 regional communities twice a year providing comprehensive optometry and ophthalmology care for cataracts, refractive error, trachoma , glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. His latest accomplishment is an Eye Health HUB in the Kimberly (62 Frederick St Broome) to service the North West Regions.

He was the winner of the 40 under 40 First Amongst Equals award in 2015, a West Australian finalist in the 2019 Australian of the Year Awards and winner of the Professional Category in the 2019 Western Australian of the Year awards.

Join us for this special Guanxi evening as A.P. Dr Turner shares the journey of the vital work of LOV and 62 Frederick St Broome; and the role of connections and relationships in making it all happen.
