Leading with Purpose: Women Shaping Business in WA
On 27 March 2026, the Western Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (WACCC) and Commonwealth Bank co-hosted an invitation-only Women’s Executive Roundtable in honour of International Women’s Day 2026.

Held under this year’s global theme of Accelerate Action, the gathering brought together a curated group of senior women business owners and professionals from across Western Australia for a peer-level discussion on leadership, opportunity, and navigating growth in today’s business environment. True to its design, the event was discussion-led rather than panel-based — creating space for candid exchange, genuine connection, and meaningful collaboration.

The roundtable featured a keynote address from Ivy Chen, Founder and Principal of GeoReg Mining and Compliance. A recognised leader across the resources and governance sectors, Ivy serves on the boards of Horizon Power, Football West — where she is Deputy Chair — and the Football Futures Foundation, and is a member of the WA Government’s Investment Attraction Fund Governance Board. She was named in the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in 2020 and was a finalist in the Outstanding Woman in Resources category at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA Awards.

Ivy shared practical insights on designing your ideal career path through negotiation, and how women can effectively raise their profiles in male-dominated industries — sparking a rich and wide-ranging discussion among attendees.

Beyond the discussions, the day marked an important milestone for the Chamber, with participants invited to become founding members in establishing the WACCC Women’s Committee — a platform dedicated to championing women’s leadership and advancing cross-cultural business engagement across the Indo-Pacific.

The WACCC thanks Commonwealth Bank for their generous partnership and hospitality, and looks forward to continuing this important work through the Women’s Committee in the months ahead.
