On Monday 22 July 2025, around 130 guests gathered Miss Chow’s on the Terrace for the Rising Together Women Luncheon—an inspiring afternoon celebrating the achievements, challenges, and contributions of Asian women in Western Australia’s business community.
Hosted by the Western Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (WACCC), the luncheon featured three remarkable women as speaker and panelists. Ms. Vivien Yap, one of Australia’s top real estate agents, delivered a keynote speech bringing to life the challenges and pivotal moments that defined her illustrious career. She was then joined by Ms. Jacquie Chan, a jewellery entrepreneur turned restaurateur; Maryann Tsai, founder of Reach Her Inc. and a passionate social entrepreneur and advocate for women empowerment, for an engaging panel discussion. Each speaker shared personal reflections on identity, resilience, and the defining moments that shaped their leadership journeys.
The event was honoured by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Ms Sook Yee Lai MLA, Acting Speaker and Member for Bibra Lake; Hon Klara Andric MLC, Member for Western Australia; Councillor Carol Zhang, City of Cockburn; Mr David Rogers, Vice President of WACCC; Mr Jimmy Yong and Ms Halina Young, Honorary Life Members of WACCC; and Ms Nancy Wang, President of the Australian Chinese Women’s Federation.
Guests enjoyed meaningful conversations, sponsor showcases, and a lively prize draw—all in celebration of women’s growing influence in business and leadership. With the generous support of our guests for the raffles tickets, WACCC raised $1,000 to be donated to ReachHer Inc., a non-profit dedicated to improving employment opportunities of diverse women, including migrants.
The success of the inaugural Women’s event encourages the Chamber to make this event an annual occasion in the WACCC event calendar.
A heartfelt thank you to our event partners and sponsors for their generous support in making this special gathering possible.
