The Western Australia Chinese Chamber of Commerce (WACCC) and the Chung Wah Association bid farewell to Mr. Long Dingbin, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Perth at a special luncheon hosted at Parliament House.
The event was hosted by Dr Jags Krishnan, with the Hon Kate Doust MLC, Ms Sook Yee Lai MLA, and Mr Geoff Baker MLA, and was attended by distinguished guests including Premier Roger Cook, President of WACCC Mr Tony Chong, President of the Chung Wah Association Dr Ting Chen, Professor Barry Marshall, Professor Andrew Deeks, Director of the WA State Office of DFAT Ms Sally Dawkins, CEO of the WA Museum Mr Alec Coles, Acting Regional Director for WA at the Department of Home Affairs Ms Ally Paolino, GAICD, President of ACBC Mr James Clarke (柯雅各), as well as prominent leaders from the Chinese community.
Mr Long has served as Consul General since 2021 and has played a significant role in strengthening the economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Western Australia and China. His contributions have been deeply appreciated by both the local Chinese community and the broader WA society.
The farewell event provided an opportunity to recognise his outstanding service, reflect on the achievements of his tenure, and extend best wishes for his future endeavours.
