With the launch of the Guanxi Series 2024, Professor Bill Morgan (MBBS, PhD, FRANZCO) Managing Director of the Lions Eye Institute (LEI) will share the story of LEI, its historic milestones, innovations, groundbreaking research, and technology transfer and how relationships and connections, have made it all happen.

Alongside, his MD role Professor Morgan is a glaucoma sub specialist, Professor at UWA and visiting Professor at Udayana University, Indonesia.

Professor Morgan’s work with glaucoma, has seen him in collaboration with Professor YU develop an internationally used XEN Allergen, a gelatin micro fistula surgery for glaucoma therapy. He is also the inventor of the Virna GDD glaucoma drainage device that was recently launched in Indonesia. Professor Morgan holds 7 patents and has published well over 125 papers.
