Youth Chapter Programmes
The Chamber has been awarded the Woodside Energy Community Grant for 2007. Under this programme, there will be a total of ten seminars organised at various Universities in WA. Five of these seminars will focus on "Understanding Chinese Culture and Value Systems" and another five on "Doing Business the Chinese Way".
Additionally the will also be five social events organised for young people. Organised with the spirit "East Meets West - The New Silk Road". These socials are intended to provide non Chinese Australian youths first hand exposure to Chinese culture. It will also be an excellent platform for social interaction.
The aim of the whole programme is to provide an opportunity for Chinese and Non Chinese youths to interact so that the bonds of mutual interest and friendship can be developed, resulting in better understanding and integration among young people of different backgrounds in WA.
Intimate Evenings
Our signature event, this is an exclusive night in sumptuous surroundings to which we invite a special guest/guests to be interviewed and to share their story with us. This event is held on a quarterly basis.
Wednesday Escapes
Wednesday Escapes was conceived by the Youth Sub Committee to be an event where youth members, many of whom are young professionals, could meet after a hard days’ work to relax, socialise and develop new contacts and relationships - a perfect antidote to soothe those daily life pressures and reinvent your weekday.
The event was first introduced in early 2007. Since then it has proven so popular that it is held on a monthly basis. The event is held at the Parmelia Hilton, The Globe wine bar on the last Wednesday of each month.
The Youth sub-committee cordially invites all members to attend this event. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in great company, chill out with a drink or simply soak up the atmosphere of the Globe wine bar.
