Objectives

  • To promote understanding and co-operation between the Asian business and wider communities in Australia, in particular Western Australia.
  • To establish and maintain relations with bodies having similar objectives in Australia and other countries.
  • To establish and maintain a high standard of business ethics in the conduct of business with other members.

  • Networking opportunities
    The Chamber's programmes provide members with many opportunities to meet, gather and establish business contacts.
  • Trade Opportunities
    Trade seminars and annual trade missions organised by the Chamber enable members to develop business in the Asia-Pacific region. Some of the trade missions organised include missions to the People's Republic of China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.
  • Information
    The Chamber's library has a selection of periodicals, magazines and reference material relating to business and trade. Members are offered free access to the library.
  • Discounted Fees for WACCC Functions
    Members enjoy a special rate for attending any of the fee-paying functions organised by the Chamber. Young members are given further concessions when attending WACCC events.
  • Publications
    All members receive three issues annually of the Chamber's magazine, The Abacus. The Abacus provides stories of interest including current business market information, trends and new developments in Australia-Asia relations.  Advertising opportunities are also available to communicate to other Chamber members.

The four membership categories have different fee and requirements.

Over the past twenty years the Chamber has built up a large membership base, the majority corporate members representing established business enterprises in Western Australia

How to Apply for Membership

Application for membership of the Chamber shall be made to the Chamber Council by application form. The Council shall consider all such applications and shall admit to the Chamber those persons who are eligible for membership.

Corporate Members may nominate more than one representative. The annual Corporate Member subscription fee of $220 includes one representative, and thereafter $110 for every additional representative.

A proposer who is a current member of the Chamber is required to endorse the application.

Please note that the normal entrance fee of $110 for Corporate membership and Individual/Sole Trader membership is waived during the promotion period.
