A Breakfast Event With Hon Penny Wong

The Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water and Senator for South Australia, took time off her busy schedule to speak at the Chamber’s breakfast event held on 4 March 2010.

Seen in the above photograph are WACCC President Khoon Tan, Vice Presidents Patti Chong, Steven Wong, Eddie Kwah and Council Member Sheng Shen.

Aproximately 150 guests turned up for this breakfast presentation.

The Minister’s talk was highly enlightening. She focussed on the following topics: Reducing Australia’s gas emissions, adapting to climate change impacts and spearheading the Government’s water reform agenda.

In her presentation, the Minister drew attention to the Government’s focus on reducing greenhouse gases and the implementation of policy procedures and new technologies to support this implementation.

Touching on Australia’s multi cultural environment, the Minister mentioned her interest in contributing more towards the Chinese community.
